Details
Form: Wide rectangular statement ring with softly rounded edges; substantial presence without sharp geometry
Surface: Bas-relief with a continuous narrative band
Motifs: Stylized dancing human figures, spiral symbols, and geometric borders reminiscent of ancient ritual / tribal iconography
Finish: Copper-bronze base with layered verdigris patina (turquoise, sea-green, oxidized brown), intentionally uneven and atmospheric
Texture: High–low contrast—burnished raised edges, recessed darkened valleys
Overall effect: Trompe-l’œil metalwork; reads as aged archaeological artifact rather than contemporary polymer

This ring was formed, textured, and finished by hand in my studio using a proprietary distress and patina process developed over more than a decade.
The imagery references movement, ritual, and continuity — themes that recur throughout my work — while the surface finish is built in layers to mimic the slow oxidation of metal over time.
No two pieces develop the same tonal balance or surface character.
